Vidya Niketan Institute of Management and Computer Applications is committed to nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset among its postgraduate scholars. Functioning in alignment with the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) guidelines, our Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) serve as launching pads for innovative business concepts, software prototypes, and tech ventures.
Objectives of The Cell
- Transform student business concepts and capstone software projects into viable commercial prototypes and startups.
- Provide structured incubation support, including shared workspace, high-speed computing infrastructure, and cloud sandboxes.
- Facilitate direct mentorship from angel investors, successful alumni founders, and industry veterans.
- Conduct hands-on masterclasses on business plan creation, legal structuring, GST compliances, and venture pitching.
Key Initiatives & Flagship Activities
- Ideation to Venture (I2V) Business Plan Competition: An annual institutional contest where MBA and MCA teams present cross-functional venture blueprints to corporate panels.
- Tech-Sprint Hackathons: 24-hour coding sprints dedicated to developing software prototypes that solve localized agricultural, logistics, or educational challenges.
- Founder Talk Series: Interactive executive sessions with first-generation entrepreneurs and startup leaders discussing real-world scaling, funding, and pivoting strategies.
- IPR & Startup Legal Clinics: Advisory workshops covering company incorporation, patent/trademark basics, and equity structuring for student enterprises.
